
Pabla R. Garcia 80 of Bovina passed away December 6, 2025 in Bovina. Viewing was held at 9:00 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Rosary Services were held at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial Services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Nicholas Gerber as Celebrant. Burial followed in the Bovina Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Pabla was born March 17, 1945 in Durango, Mexico to Bacilio and Filomena Delgado Rueda. She later married Francisco Garcia June of 1964. She was a very active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina. She loved going and shopping and looking around at the stores, going out to eat, and every trip included a stop for her favorite snacks. She also loved taking walks around her neighborhood.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bicilio and Filomena Rueda, and 1 sister-Aurora Rueda.
Those to mourn her passing include her husband-Francisco Garcia of Bovina, children-Patricia Salas, Angela Carrillo, Elizabeth Salas, Elva Rodriguez and Zulema Garcia, all of Bovina, Atilano Garcia of Farwell, and Maricela Gomez of Ft. Worth, sisters-Elena Rueda, Fe Rueda, Juventina Rueda, Guadalupe Rueda, and Eva Rueda, brothers-Rodrigo Rueda, Apolonio Rueda, and Manuel Rueda, all of Mexico, 24 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Jesse Elwin Armstrong II, 65 of Friona passed away December 7, 2025 in Friona. Graveside Services were held at 4:30 PM Sunday December 7, 2025 in the Rhea-Hollene Cemetery in the Rhea Community. Arrangements entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Jesse was born June 18, 1960 in Camp Pendleton, California to John Elwin and Kay Frances Gear Armstrong. Jesse was long haul truck driver until his retirement for health reasons. He loved the outdoors, hunting and shooting, but was also an avid music lover and ham radio operator.
He is preceded in death by his father John Armstrong, and his wife Shirley Armstrong.
Those to mourn his passing include his mother-Kay Stautz of Chandler, Arizona, 1 daughter-Virginia Armstrong of Friona, 1 son-Jonathan Armstrong of Moyock, North Carolina, 3 sisters-Julie Avery of North Pole, Alaska, Jackie Harris of Reno, Nevada, and Jo Pagach of Weatherford, Texas.

Billie Rae McKee Tongate, 85, of Friona, passed away on December 5, 2025. Billie Rae was born in Clovis, New Mexico, on March 9, 1940, to Ray Bert and Marie McKee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Karen Kay McKee Davis of Lovington, New Mexico.
Billie Rae made her home in Friona for most of her life. She was a faithful member of Union Congregational Church and a dedicated servant to her community. For 29 years, she worked at the Friona Texas Federal Credit Union, where she was known for her kindness, dependability, and genuine care for the people she served.
She is survived by her husband, Joe D. Tongate of Friona; and her three children: Sydonia McDaniel of Lubbock, Texas; Vohnya Tongate and wife Kelly of Shallowater, Texas; and Kemal Tongate and wife Kari of Anton, Texas.
Billie Rae was a cherished “Grandmom” to her grandchildren—Arianna Newman, Cole Pena, Ian McDaniel, Garrett Tongate, Guthrie Tongate, Ethan Tongate, Logan Tongate, Regan Tongate, Cade Tongate, and Cierra Tongate—along with her five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Billie Rae will be remembered for her loving heart, deep devotion to her family, and lifelong commitment to her community. Her presence will be profoundly missed and forever treasured.
A family directed memorial service will be held on January 3, 2026 at Union Congregational Church 1601 N. Euclid in Friona. The family would like to visit with friends beginning at 10 am. Services will follow at 11 am.
